I don't know what happened. I don't think its a stomach bug. I have a dull, sometimes not-so-dull tummyache. Which happens. But usually doesn't last for 3 or more days, which is where we are now.
Anyway. My birthday just ended. Amy and I saw "The Hurt Locker". It was OK. Too long. Also, the couple behind us thought it was HILARIOUS. This is disturbing because the film is very high-tension, and about the Army's bomb detonating team, who deal with IED's in the Iraq war. So the laughter seemed pretty inappropriate.
The top moment that they thought was funny has to be when the soldiers find a dead Iraqi boy with a bomb IN HIS STOMACH. Literally, this moment brought on PEALS of laughter.
Other somber movies that my wife and I feel like they may have ruined with inappropriate laughter in the past:
"Schindler's List"
"The Killing Fields"
"Caddyshack II"

hey Josh--I was just catching up to make sure that I was keeping up with my blog for the week and I read a few of people's posts and caught a glimpse of yours. I had some stomach problems a few years ago and they did an endoscopy..which is a very simple procedure where they look in your stomach with a camera to see what's up. (It's virtualy painless because they knock you out for this). it turned out I had a stomach bacteria that was causing relentless digestive issues---I blamed my recent trip to Mexico--but who knows..anyway... Symptoms you describe though are often associated with reflux/ulcerative issues, which usually need addressed to prevent any erosion in the esophogus/digestive tract. problems are typically treated with medicine to repair any erosion like Nexium or Prilosec... not like you need advice from a stranger..but I'm offering unsolicited advice I guess... it's better to keep on top of your health while you are young..now i sound not only like a nebby stranger..but I nebby stranger mom. (Sorry--but I care about people I don't know I guess)
ReplyDeleteBecky, thanks. I need all the advice I can get. Made a Doctor's appointment today.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome Josh :)
ReplyDeleteIn case you are wondering why I issued the apology while giving advice--it's cause you never know how pple will react to unsolicited advice..you could've darn well told me to mind my own business!!
...but I'm glad that I could help! I'm glad that you made a doctor's appointment, you will find that what ever it is that's ailing you is easily treatable..most stomach problems are. I guess I know because many or my relatives have various stomach-related issues from GERD to diverticulitis to IBS to mild ulcers.
Sorry for the late response, but I hope you're feeling better (and esp. for Fast Track weekend).
