Uncle Jesse helps out with "Kokomo"

Now that I have your attention, let's talk about issues in information!

I will not lie, I grabbed this directly from Dr. Tomer's Google Reader feed, but it is exciting to me nonetheless.

You can now Google Image Search specifically for creative commons images. These are images that you can use without fear of copyright infringement issues, etc.

(this is getting annoying...I can't make this a link and I've tried all the advice you guys have given me!)

I think that this is super-keen, because I love Creative Commons.

In unrelated news, I modded (modified) my first amp and am pleased with the results. While I'm no whiz with a soldering iron, I followed directions and now my little amp sounds better! GO ME!!! Next up, model airplanes.

  1. Actually, while John Stamos (i.e. "Uncle Jesse" on Full House) was in the video for "Kokomo", he wasn't (at least as far as I know) on the record. He has, however, been an on-again, off-again touring member of The Beach Boys since the late '80s. Yes, I'm a big Beach Boys nerd.

  3. Becky, I should hope that you have room in your heart for both Uncle Jesses.

Matt-Thanks for the Beach Boys verification! I was pretty sure that Stamos was onstage with the Beach Boys when my friends saw them at Six Flags in the early 90's.

  4. There's love for both Uncle Jesses here, too. I just didn't think of The Dukes of Hazzard (not the remake) even though it was my favorite show when I was 6. When me and my wife went out to LA 3 years ago, we went to the Warner Brothers Studios (an absolute must, though quite touristy obviously) and got a photo taken with a "flying" (really it's just hanging in mid-air suspended by cable or perhaps just on the ground floor; can't remember which) General Lee! It's on top of our fridge!

  6. Wasn't there a season where them Duke boys were replaced by their cousins Coy and Vance? Or was this a random, false childhood memory?

The "one Daisy" thing is like Smurfette. How could there be just one girl Smurf? Poor thing...

  7. I know that there was one last season where they were without both Tom Wopat and John Schneider, but by that point I wasn't watching it anymore and had moved on to, oh I don't know, Silver Spoons or something.

Also, I wanted to respond to your comment on my blog. I also didn't really get into the shoegaze thing until recent years. In the early '90s I was mostly listening to a lot punk and hardcore. Now I'm a fan of a lot of the original late '80s/early '90s bands as well as revivalists like The Sleepover Disaster, Asobi Seksu, School of Seven Bells, M83, Serena Maneesh, Film School and others. I've never gotten into the Swirlies, though. I'm also a huge fan of old NY punk and hardcore. We should definitely trade cd-rs (or links to stuff) at some point.
